The Low Temperature Incubator, often known as BOD incubators are designed to provide excellent temperature uniformity for a wide range of applications requiring low temperature conditions. These laboratory incubators can operate across a very wide temperature range, ranging from 2°C to 90°C with an accuracy of +/- 0.5°C. They use PID microprocessor based controllers for efficient temperature control and an integrated LED display for displaying the set-point and actual temperatures. The efficient thermostat provides highly precise control of the working temperature and ensures repeatability of the test conditions. The equipment uses efficient fans and motor for circulating the heated air in a uniform air flow pattern. It uses forced air circulation system for maintaining uniform air circulation, ensuring greater temperature homogeneity within the equipment. These low temperature incubators also use an efficient refrigeration system and hermetically sealed compressors for efficient cooling. The compressor depresses the temperature below ambient, whereas the heater elevates the temperature to bring it back to ambient, therefore providing highly precise control of the working temperatures. The refrigerator incubators can also provide cooler temperatures for certain cell cultures that require refrigeration.

The bio-chemical oxygen demand incubators from Weiber also come equipped with a wide array of safety features including an over temperature safety controller, a circuit breaker to protect the equipment from electrical overload and alarms and indicators for out of spec parameters.
