Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a walk-in plant growth chamber?
A: A walk-in plant growth chamber is a large-format room-sized controlled environment unit that allows researchers to physically enter and work with plants inside. It provides precise control over temperature, humidity, light intensity, and photoperiod for large-scale plant research, crop studies, and breeding programmes.
Q: What is the difference between a plant growth chamber and a plant growth test chamber?
A: Both terms describe the same equipment. A plant growth chamber is the general term for research use. A plant growth test chamber emphasises its use in formal experimental or qualification testing. ACMAS–WEIBER chambers serve both purposes.
Q: What temperature and humidity range does your walk-in plant growth chamber support?
A: -2°C to 70°C (lights off), 5°C to 70°C (lights on), accuracy ±0.5°C. Humidity: 20% to 85% RH, accuracy ±3% RH. Custom ranges available on request.
Q: What light intensity do your plant growth test chambers support?
A: Standard programmable illumination up to 800 µmol/m²/s (PPFD) with photoperiod control. Custom light intensities and spectra (red, far-red, blue, UV) available on request. Optional CO2 control also available.
Q: Can plant growth chambers be customised to my specifications?
A: Yes, this is a core ACMAS–WEIBER capability. We customise temperature range, humidity profile, light intensity and spectrum, photoperiod programme, CO2 control, chamber dimensions, shelf configuration, and data connectivity. Share your requirements and we will design and quote within 5 working days.
Q: What sizes are available for walk-in plant growth chambers?
A: Standard: 4200L (1790×2100×2305mm), 8100L (2740×2100×2305mm), 12500L (3790×2100×2305mm). Custom: 2000L to 10000L+ on request.
Q: Do you export walk-in plant growth chambers outside India?
A: Yes. We export to the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe, and the United States. CE-certified equipment with export-compliant packaging, multilingual documentation, and remote installation support.
